Hi,more help needed please.  Very pretty drippy blue/green glaze.  Mark on base says GERMANY 108/20.  I am not fully sure it is 108 as the first numerical digit is a bit unclear, could be a 4 or a 7 even. All help gratefully received  Emmi

OK.  At last some time to take base pic.  Had to use cinnamon to highlight the lettering which is impressed into the clay rather than raised lettering.  The clay used is a white clay.

One purchased today.........nice metallic bronzey glaze, but which era?  Marks on base 419/22or 479/22........it looks like a perfect English 7, but not a perfect German 1????

So they have written the English style 7 and not the continental 7 with a slash across? Why? Emmi

Nice dish, Emmi. I have a small vase with the same design (form number 164/14). I must admit the shape is boring compared to your dish.

the base is overglazed my best guess is relief 22/36 but i could be wrong. it is 36cm and 42cm wide. it seems quite fragile.i expect a lot of them have been broken over the years. i guess there must be other shapes out there with the same glaze. they do look great in groups.  thanks for your comments. craig.

Hi Craig, try putting talcum powder or any fine powder on the numbers and see if they stand out any better.
