Help!
How many of this style Roth vase are there?
I have 7 and I think there is at least 2 more, one is a long thin one and I think there is a smaller version of the triangle handle shape, can anyone also confirm there are 5 colours, if so has anyone a yellow one they would like to swap/sell so I can complete at least this set!!!!

As promised a while ago my Roth piece form 1304

Hi need some help with this planter marked 12/2 and made in w. germany, I think Roth but need to be sure.
Thanks,
Bas :ao:

well heres the thin one. :ao:

Just found this at the local car boot sale. Either I have the first bargain of the the year or the remnants of the christmas turkey.
Over to the board for dissection.
Base marked Gremany but cant see all of the word can only see ....rmany and what looks like a 16 fairly central but nothing above it.
Stands about 16 cm 6 1/2 inches tall so guess the 16 is the height as usual but no form number.

I think I have found another Roth in my collection
form number 4302 very hard to see the 4 but looks like the 4301 of Kevs
Red clay as usual

I've been doing more looking at the various sculptural or see-through vases, and there is definitely an ES version out there that is almost identical to some of the Roth shapes. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a bottom shot or gotten a form number yet. The Roth versions are all in the 2000 (2002-2006 that I can think of) line and with red or reddish clay. On the Roth versions, the top opening is sometimes round, sometimes rectangular, though I don't know why. Other companies seem to have stuck with the square or rectangular opening exclusively or almost exclusively.

I Love this one
Form no 4306?

And this one the same as one posted earlier
12 2 23 22 Made in W Germany stamped on base
-
I think this will be a hard one to identify, a toxic luminous purple and blue glossy glaze. Base no. 7304 red clay.
-
Hi Allan,
I'm going to make an un-educated guess on the one, I think it's Roth. Red clay, 4 digit number.

Ok this is my lot as requested....

Both about 15cms tall, unable to see base marks although the flower power one has a feint 00 showing, that's all.......... base on red/black lava one is also covered in lava......so not a hope in seeing a number...TIA Emmi

hi guys. i'm new to the site and am made up to see peoples roth. your form number is 4300 Emmi. great collection mrmoosehead, i love the big purple one. the little 16ins one is form 106 looks great as does the 4306 i found one of those this week. opheus your planters look like roth to me i have some with the same marks with typical roth glazes. allen.k your vase is great too. i haven't seen that form before but i have a couple of hole vases with the same sort of glaze. i love this stuff you find something new all the time. if you rember me thanks for the 4101 i got last month Forrest that is a great glaze, all the best everyone. Craig.

He Craig thanks for the great input.

thanks Bas. it,s great to see your pictures. has anyone seen the lavaless roth like this. i have heard there may be a white one out there somewhere. craig
-
Never seen that before, looks a bit naked to me.
-
it looks better in the flesh.the glaze is deep red with slight black specks in it. i suppose it does not stand out like the others but it is a nice contrast . great website bas ,i will keep looking in.
-
I found my first piece of Roth, so I'm told elsewhere, thanks Martin (I swear I posted it here as well, must have pushed the wrong button)
Flagon style vase with shiny green top half and black and white lava base. 19 cm tall, dark brown clay, Marked FOREIGN (printed) and impressed 6302.
-
Well done Christine
-
nice one christine. i have one like this but without the foregin marking. i have seen peices on ebay with the same glaze but diferent shapes but have been put off them because i thaught roth peices were not marked foreign . they must be printed later if they have gone for export. thanks for showing me something new. craig.
-
I think it's very possible that many Roth pieces were marked Foreign, it wouldn't take many good washes to get rid of it because it's not fired on
-
6302/18 is written on mine in what looks like black marker pen. i thaught someone had added this later but by the looks of your marking maybee not. i keep finding new roth forms or glazes every week but i still haven't found one i don't like. i think they are one of the best fat lava makers out there and a little overlooked because people don't know a lot about there production. i'm addicted to the stuff. i would love to see some more pictures of peoples roth in case there is something else i should be looking out for.
