Title: Greengrocer teapot?
Post by: Anne on September 09, 2007, 12:46:46 AM
I was given this as a keepsake of my friend's mother after her death. It's a fun teapot but I just idly wondered if anyone knows who made these things and when? It has what looks like a capital D shaped mark on the base but nothing else.

I have seen most of these kind of teapots (maybe not this one) with Taiwan or Chinese labels.

Maybe it is a Leonardo teapot?

Why not send a pic to Andy Titcomb?  He has a brilliant teapot blog, and is a really nice bloke.

TC I'd assumed it was probably not a fancy maker, so Chinese/Taiwan is entirely possible.

Lynne, thanks for the link. What a great page - some really fun teapots there. I'll follow that up.  8)

TC, this is the Leonardo one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300148882994 - not the same as mine. There is one like mine on eBay atm but the seller says it has no marks.  ::)

Lynne, good thinking, I'll suggest that. :)
