Title: Franzani Mehlen ?
Post by: dantheman on September 09, 2007, 12:53:58 PM
I bought this quality fruit bowl yesterday,I think it was made in Bonn by Franzani Mehlen but i have no idea if this is correct because...yes,the stamp is hard to read.

Franz Ant Mehlem may be the name, although some records say Ant,some Anton also some Mehlem and some Mehlen?
All very confusing but it seems likely to be turn of the century
(not the last one)

Hi Dan, any of the book's i have say Franz Mehlem, and the mark "Franz Ant. Mehlem Bonn A/ Rhein " in a circle around F A M monogram or FM circled by a sort of wreath topped with a crown, above the crown Royal, bottom of wreath Bonn.
I will have a little rootle round and see what else i can find out.

Thanks Sue,
I think the mark that they have on record is less legible than the one on my bowl!
