Title: Doll -- any ideas?
Post by: antiquerose123 on April 23, 2008, 03:17:09 AM
Hi does anyone have any ideas about this?  I (kinda) reminds me of the Kewpie doll, as they have that little flip in the hair -- what do you think it is?

Have not found any marks, but could take a * c-l-o-s-e-r *  look again....just reminds me of the kewpie, with that flip...any ideas there?

 ??? ???

Kewpie's usually have dimples on the top, left and right of the head. Is it hard or soft plastic?

Roddy dolls were hard plastic dolls made by Pedigree in England, I think they were also made in Australia. If it is a Roddy, I would expect it to be marked

You surprise me, I've never seen a connection between Roddy and Pedigree.  :o

It was here (http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:9g3uhQgJh7wJ:www.devonport.tas.gov.au/upload/documents/yourcouncil/devonport_times/devtimesmarch072ndhalf.pdf+pedigree+%2Broddy+%2Bdoll&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=27&gl=uk) Scroll down. But you are probably right, unless Roddy became part of Pedigree, I haven't yet found who Roddy were.

Here is a great doll source link http://dolllinks.blogspot.com/ (http://dolllinks.blogspot.com/)
