I love this design, but I can't make out the name on the base, as it is covered in thick white glaze. It has a label that says "Made in Sweden" and signed with a mongram that says either MB or NB? Hope someone can recognize this style or artist!
Thanks for any help you can give,
Vickie

I think you have the middle impressed mark upside down. ;)
Have a look at this mark on this vase here....

It looks like it's Laholm Pottery then.

Hi Tigerchips,
Thankyou for solving the mystery! I have been looking on the net for more about the designer NB, but I can't find a name for them yet! Are Lanholm Pottery still going?
Thanks again

I honestly don't know much about Swedish pottery, i'm just a good Googler, lol.

Here's a very good link for ID'ing Swedish ceramics. Scroll down to Laholm and then run the text through Google Language tools.
It won't be perfect but it'll give you a good idea of the history. If I can help, give me a shout :)

I can't read the stuff here, but anything here?
http://sveriges.antikvitet.net/
Take a root around maybe... :)

I doubt if you'll get much help there Rose, it's for selling stuff, not identifying it. But well done on sniffing it out! Can help with translations if needed,
a40ty.

Thankyou everyone for your help with the bowl, The Swedish marks website will come in very handy. Thankyou four time.

A nice bowl with sgrafitto and painting from the 1960?ies. MD is the mark for the decorator Marit Davidsson and not the designer, which possibly will be Ulla S?nnerstam.

Hi Potterycat

Potterycat, welcome to the board and thank you so much for helping with some of our mysteries. We're delighted to have your expertise. :cheerleader:

Thank you, Anne.
Don?t call me an expert, because we all never stop to learn more.
The site is five years old, but I discovered it for a week ago. Very nice.
In Sweden we have three discussionboards:
Antikprat http://www.antikviteter.net/antikprat/messages/board-topics.html
and
Retroforum http://www.retroforum.se/
and
Precis en s?n http://precisensan.com/antikforum/forum.php
Antikprat started, I guess, 1999, Precisens?n 2005 and Retroforum later.
The first is an open area, without registration of members, and the other is closed as here.
Much is at swedish, but it is many useful pictures to look at.
One thread can be nice to read:
http://precisensan.com/antikforum/showthread.php?30512-Royal-Doulton&p=194488&viewfull=1#post194488
My english is not good, but I will do my best to tell or ask.
It shall be nice!
