-
Ok here is mine, and what was inside it :D
-
Our one and only FAT LAVA piece.....Any good?
-
Thought I'd share this vase, in the event the shape/glaze would prove useful
Embossed base: Scheurich 216-20
-
Another to share:
Scheurich 208-21
Interesting this one has the company name stamped on - I assume this was before a certain date? Or is there any other reason for this?
-
Hi Guys
Here is a nice German vase form number 248-22 I guess you could call this one Fat Lava nice dripping glaze.
I bought this at an NZ online auction when it arrived I was very pleased until I had a closer look, it was cracked from top to bottom due to the box it was packed in not being big enough!!
The up side I have been offered a refund.
-
hi everyone, i found this today, does any one have any ideas, i must say it is the most beautiful burnt orange colour, it is marked germany on the bottom with numbers. thanks everyone, :hlp:
-
I have this vase, but cannot read what is written underneath as it is just too crusty.
Height = 21cmm
TIA
Della
xx
2 more to post, but can't find the photos
-
Ok, can't find the photos, so took new ones.
1 with handle is 16cm
1 without handle is 15cm
Obviously siblings, but again ,the base is so crusty that I cannot see anything. :czy:
-
I've got a "Scheurich - Keramik 239-41 W.Germany" marked floor vase in olivey green. It's nice. Has spirals in paler greeny semi-lava drippy stuff. Brown glaze inside.
Lustrousstone is visiting me tomorrow :sun: - might be able to get a pic!
-
;D
I've got a 400 22, glaze is olivey green speckly with brown over, there's a black lava-ey band around it at each of the points where the handle meets, and a couple of white skinny lava spirals between the bands.
Now I know this bit is Scheurich! thank you!
Yesterday, I learned the second number is the height. :bop:
-
:hlp: :new: Well, I know that they are German at least.
TIA
xx
They are all Scheurich....
-
I just bought a vase, and have not taken a pix of it, but it says GERMANY 282-20 on the bottom. I thought that maybe I will not even need a pix, as I figure someone will know this mark right away....since it is so readable. Once I get a pix, will post if needed, but does anyone know what this means, or the age ?? Is it new pottery or what ???
thxs in advance...

I fink I got a Scheurich 484-27. It didn't 'alf scrub up nice.
-
This is kind of growing on me. I quite like the organic woody looking 'eyes' Form number 288-18. Is it Scheurich and what decade please?
-
I just bought this today, 293-42.
-
426-35 ? I find in my limited knowledge (i.e Riffarth thinking they were Roth) that its quite easy to make a mistake.
-
Heres the base.
-
Really that 423- 33 is amazing . like the joke too. lol
Anyway the last one from us today. Im sure you?ve all seen this one before or something like it.
486- 48
-
279-38
Fairly often seen glaze , would that be fair ? But love this one .
-
Ok confession time the 242 is my favourite shape - nice post that man.
But heres a 275-28
-
209-18, take a look at one I found at a street market in Cambridge 2 weeks ago I paid NZ$10.
I rather like the 414-16 I have two so far, see if I can get all 50+ glazes!!
-

-
...i thought i would show you a couple of vases that i bought yesterday.
-
This one has the factory name on the bottom, far more sensible than just putting a few numbers on that nobody understands.
-
I bought this one a couple of months ago,it has a nice, clear makers name on the base and was made quite recently.
-
517-38 ignore the vase and just check how dusty that staircase is :-[
-
239-41
-
553-52 base unreadable
-
Mmmm I love those last two Ronnie.......would keep my big beast happy in my hallway! Just found this one tucked away, looks oldish - 50s perhaps
-
Could these 3 be Scheurich?
L - R markings
549-21........1271-17...........404-26
help please Emmi
-
Don't think this photo very helpful. I've tried every which way, including (in the absence of talc) flour and just succeeded in making pastry on the base!!! But no enhancement of the marks!
-
532-29/8 ? i have another one somewhere...
-
550 - 10 it maybe tiny but its beautiful !
-
L-R 410-7 520-28 Check this little fella out to the left ;)

-
Okay, I chucked this one away as I eventually found that it was cracked.
I can't remember the form number but I think it might be a Scheurich?
-
My favourite version of the 414 - 16 :pst: joking
-
271-22 Heinz Siery
-
My latest find Form 517-30 I will make a guess this is Scheurich 70s-80s? am i right?
-
A wee fat lava bud vase - the number on the base is too faint to read definively, but it appears to read '550 - 10' (and it is indeed 10cm tall). Also marked 'A' to the base, along with the usual 'W. Germany'.
-
Do you know when the 'Amsterdam' range was introduced and/or who it may have been designed by?
I have this small vase, but the shape number is too indistinct to read... it definitely begins with a '2', and the vase is a little over 15cm tall, so the last digits are self-explanatory.
-
He pinkspoon I have the same piece its numbered 285-15
-
Thanks for that. :)
-
I think it' Scheurich too. I've got the same in different glaze marked: 550-10
-
I think the green ones are nice too! Or red:
-
Hi, bought this one today (0,25 eurocent) and there is the final proof that it is Scheurich the Europ Linie label!
-
I wonder what other different colours there are in this particular piece? Maybe we should start a thread?
-
Hello everyone, anyone any idea which factory made this beautiful lava dish, I thought Scheurich but am uncertain. TIA
-
I found a similar one in different colours on a dutch secondhand website called marktplaats.nl, and it had a label Scheurich on it! So I know who made this.
-
And here's another biggie bought a couple of days ago.........517/38
-
Hi all, found this vase this weekend with form number 523-18. Looks like Scheurich but has a label from 'West Keramik'. Never heard of this pottery myself but maybe one of our leading collectors can help out? TIA.
-
Here's one of mine,
Marked Scheurich-Keramik 239-42 W.GERMANY.
xx
-
Here's another but it may be in the wrong place - its just marked 268-40 W.GERMANY on the base?
xx
-
Form 401-20, but with a lid on it, colours match perfectly with the vase but i'm not sure this is the idea.
-
Just look at this little beauty.....could it be a 50s piece.......bright enamel like glaze, it is just gorgeous..is there a designer name please? 203-26 on base
-
Very nice floor vase by SCHEURICH of the 1960?s with typical decor of the 1950/60s:
Shape: 229-52 of 1966/67
-
I think it is an early Scheurich but the base is covered in spotty glaze. so can't see any numbers
Very similar to 517-..
38 cm high
Bodo Mans?
Martin
-
So deffo Scheurich, but the form number is like Emmis 517 but the 'shoulders' are flatter on the top. Dose that make sense! ???
I have a 517 some where Will try and dig it out..
-
Found it!
sorry boring glaze
517-45 Almost the biggest vase I have.
Martin
-
And it's lil baby brother/sister
242 22
-
I have also noticed the differing styles in Scheurich vases over the years mostly with the 401s
-
Ok here it is the big daddy of my collection,
248-53
-
Yesterday I found this little fellow form 410-7, isn't she cute?
-
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/glassie/WGerman015.jpg
I'm guessing that this might be W.German ??? It has the following numbers on the base 522 20 (the last digit could be an 8 or even a 2 because it is quite indistinct). I love the flame coloured glaze which is much brighter and slightly redder than shown. It has a black interior and stands 8" high.
Any ideas what it is please?
Thank you ;D
-
The last number is usually the size, 20 cm (8 in) in your case
-
Great! Thanks very much folk ;D Its a great looking piece.
-
Get the maracas its Flamenco time !!
242 -22
-
Not sure if this is Scheurich planter - base marks 806-22, yet it is only 19cms tall, with a 21cms diameter rim.
Help please.
-
That's good, but I thought the second number - 22 - indicated height of the item, which in this case is 19 cms and not 22 cms. I am confused ??? ??? Emmi
-
242 blobby style
-
520-32 The largest 520 they did......... ( oh alright Kev told me)
-
Help please with ID of this one....difficult to photo the base but it reads 408-40 W.GERMANY
-
More help please.
-
Wow Emmi that is one nice glaze, mines a little more timid but i'm 99.9% certain it's a Scheurich.
Base 408 40
-
Just a tiddler I picked up this morning.help please, base marks 523-18 TIA
-
A classic example of Scheurich's recycling of numbers
My 523 21
-
Nice plant pot this, no marks on the base though. Any ideas who please? It's 5 inches high.
-
Nice big vase, Scheurich, Bay?
-
I'd guess Scheurich
-
Big applause for the one that got it right...
...see, I told you it was Scheurich. :P ;)
-
Scheurich "LEOPARD" glaze ;D
200-22
-

-
Form 507-18
-
??? ?Exclusive? Scheurich "517 38" mosaicked - 5,8kg!
Haven?t any more information to this piece.
-
Is that for real, or has someone had a "craft" afternoon or watched too much Blue Peter? ;D Emmi
-
:24: :24: :24: :24: :24: :24: :24: :24: :24:
its beautiful by the way
-
520-28
-
206-26 great carving effect on this piece.
-
Scheurich made some nice rumtopfs too! :bad:
-
I knew I'd find some good German pottery if I looked long enough. :bny:
This measures 7 1/4 inches tall (sorry, I don't have a metric tape measure) & is marked 'Scheurich Germany' & I can't make out the numbers.
Since it doesn't say 'West', would that put this early 1990s, perhaps?
Thanks!
-
Hi Karla, it is indeed a later piece made by Scheurich keramik. You can tell by the three circle logo also.
-
ID Help please with maker, era etc. Base marks 203-22 white clay. thanks Emmi
-
petite "410-7" - height 7cm
-
I bought this in a second hand store. I thought is wasn't really beautiful, but more too ugly to be true. And because I thought is was 'over the top' I even liked it. I saw that it is West German. But is it possibly Scheuerich? Or is it truly junk?
-
A couple of 517-45s that I picked up this morning for a tenner the pair.
The first has a blue/black lava glaze and a large red fish.
The second is another mosaic. This one's 6.7kgs.
Does anyone know anything about Scheurich artists? I'm yet to see anything identified as by a particular decorator...
-
I don't know about decorators, but I think the pattern for the vase on the left is called 'Wanda'.
Decors Made By Scheurich Keramik, Download PDF format 3.6Mb...
Admin: Link removed at the request of Outernational
See no 85 for the 'Wanda' pattern...
-
I was going to tug on your shirt for taking the Micky Bliss, then I read:
"Original names of decors are seldom known, and this paper works with fantasy names, made up by the authors."
Ta for the link, TC. Tis very useful.
Cheers

Ooops, didn't read that bit properly!
-
No sweat.
I do worry about the authors a tad, what with patterns named Brixton and Birmingham... :-\
-
Very Germanic sounding names... not! I see what you mean Chris. Seems an odd thing to do.
-
It's a bit odd that one of the decors that has a name, Amsterdam, is called Stockholm and Amsterdam is used for a different one!

Trudy it's a Scheurich.
-
:gcheer: hi Bas, nice to see you here :D
-
Hi Sue, Nice to be back.
-
Hows this for a monster piece of Scheurich, bought for just ?2.00 last summer at a car boot sale near Nottingham.
-
Crikey! That's huge!!! I bet it weighs a ton. :fby:

YIKES - that is huge, what is the measurements of it (and weight) ? :o :o
-
It's 45cm high, about 18cm across at the base and weighs just shy of 3kg.
-
That's around 18 inches x 7 inches and 6?lbs for those of us who are metrically challenged. ;)
-
We like form numbers for German pottery as well please because it can help (or not) with the unknowns. That's the number on the bottom, one part of which usually relates to the size. (Hope I'm not teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here  )
-
Sorry, it's 429-45. I didn't think to add that bit to my message because I usually put the relevant info into the piture title (is that a URL?).
A lot of Belgian pottery used the same marking system as well as the East Germans.
