Title: Figgjo Flint
Post by: Della on August 18, 2007, 06:48:20 PM

Ok, maybe a dumb question, but bear with me. I only know about British pottery, and even my knowledge in that area is very limited.

Where can I find out how to date backstamps on Figgjo Flint pieces?

I've just picked up three more of the Torskefiske hangers today, all different to yours. (Pics to follow once Barry's cleared 200+ scarecrow pics off the camera!)

I wonder how many there were in the series?

Edited to add pics...

Info on the Figgjo Flint book can be found here....

I might as well post a few of my Figgjo Flint's on here... Some people call it Figgio Flint, it's probably a miss-spelling.

Clupea pattern bowl. This is interesting, for egg beating perhaps?

It's not for egg beating, it is a bowl for serving pickled herrings, yumyum! :)

Hi,
I have recently come across some FF Turi Design Market cups and saucers.  The problem is:  there are three different backstamps.  Can anyone help by telling me what stamps are the oldest to youngest...and were these cups a marriage or did the cup backstamp originally differ from the saucer backstamp?

Heaps of thanks!

Here is backstamps for the year 1950-2000 for Figgjo, everything is in norwegian language, but pictures and year will be easy to find out. :)

Figgjo Fayence and Stavanger Flint was two separately factories, and after economical problems they throwed togehter to Figgjo Flint in 1968. 1974 Porsgrund took over them, but they kept the name until 1979.

But more research is needed, because you can see that Figgjo Fayance was named with Flint already 1950...
