Could this be.... Hans Coper?
« on: October 12, 2008, 07:58:24 PM »
I found this little beautiful bowl at the weekend for 50p!

It's incised H C to the base, and the glaze surely looks like his kind of work.  Obviously the shape isnt as weird as his usual work, but I gather he did some 'normal' shapes too?

I'm not too upset if it's not, as I bought it without seeing a mark, just because I loved the glaze - so will happily keep it for myself  :)

thank you - I adore it, the finish is so unusual.  Well, it's not Hans Coper apparently, but still fabulous ;o)

There's a similar mark in Lang, attributed to Hilary Carruther, studio potter working in Malvern from 1960, but I've not managed to find any other mentions of her work yet.
Cheers!
