WEIRD FISH DISH?

hi,i'm a born again collector who is new to this board and would like help to ID this pot,it is a fish with matt black ground and what looks like enamelling colours.It has an open mouth and spaced out eyes (a bit like myself at the moment trying to figure all this out) it has an indentation stamp No 4133 or 4155 also a squiggle:technical term..i would appreciate any information.  Lynn

Hi thanks for the reply,now i have photographed the base it is showing up more,so here are the base photos also do you know when the base stamp "FOREIGN"was first used and when they stopped using it . Lynn

Foreign was used in the 1950s and into the 1960s (and not only by German companies). Can you talc the bottom so the talc sits in the indents then try an even closer shot using the macro on your camera. I am confident it is German though.

Found him. He's a Schmider Keramik (also known as Zell) fish from 1956, model number 4133. ID thanks to Annee of the Pottery and Glass forum
