Seahorse bowl by Darlene.
« on: November 28, 2008, 08:44:36 PM »
Thought I'd show this nice red earthenware seahorse bowl I've just bought.   Fortunately there's a label, as the DH mark didn't mean anything to me, and wasn't in my British Studio Potters' Marks book.  Made by someone called Darlene.  I've been unable to find out anything about them.  The telephone code is for the Penzance area, and Darlene isn't listed in the Business Directory for potters/potteries in that area, so may not be there any more.  I might give the number a go to see what response I get.

Or a Chinese take-away  ;D ... "No very sorry - no fried seahorse on menu".

I've got to buck up the courage to 'phone now.  I hate speaking on the 'phone at the best of times, and making a 'cold call' .... :hlp:  ;D

Thanks Rose :)  They're pretty similar.  I like her maple leaf pieces in particular and its interesting to see she uses real leaves to leave shape imprints - kind of like a stencil.
