Hi Andrew, have you checked the patterns shown on Replacements.com - they have a huge database of Tuscan china: http://www.replacements.com/china/TUS.htm - also look on the bottom of each piece for a number which could be the pattern number. The letters on the base of your cup would be the decorator's mark as these are hand-painted items. Pure 1930's I'd say, datewise, a gorgeous set!
Cheers!

Hand-coloured transfers, see the dots in the leaves. Date post 1936 from mark

The manufacturer is RH & SL Plant Ltd of the Tuscan Works, Longton, Staffordshire

Plant did some pretty stuff, but its not always as appreciated as it might be. I assume this is 12 place setting: 12 cups, saucers and teaplates, milk jug, sugar bowl and 2/3 cake plates? Probably a wedding gift at that size

This set has the Numbers    1769A  on the base of each saucer .
What sort of value would this have ?

The number will be the pattern number

I think you are unlikely to sell it complete. I would be inclined to split it into trios and sell the cake plates separately and the jug and sugar as a set. You just might just sell a set for 6 including one cake plate and the milk and sugar. It's very pretty but I wouldn't hold your breath

I think the red, blue and green infills are hand done Christine, even if the outlines and the leaves are transfers.

The pattern 1769a isn't listed on Replacements.com, sadly, Andrew, but I have some 1930s Tuscan in my webshop in trios (as Christine suggests) for ?19.95 per set, and milk/sugar at ?14.95, cake plate the same. I've seen them in other places at around the same price so it's a starting point anyhow. You can always drop the price a little if they don't sell, but you can't put them up once they have! ;)
Cheers!

I did email Malcolme who is the Author on Tuscan china patterns He said at first glance that he thought it was 1920 to 36 he said that there should be a 4 digit character number on one of the pieces , however i cannot find this .
I think that this is one of the best deco sets that i have seen , having searched for one like this .
I know that might seem like i am favouring my set but i honestly think it has a lot of deco appeal .

Hand-coloured transfers
  ;)

The mark is definitely post 1836 according to Godden, even if the design appears slightly earlier. You also have your four digit number on your saucers!

Tuscan doesn't sell terribly well on ebay, however pretty (99p for 40 pieces and no postage, collection, for example).  I looked yesterday and have experienced it. Newark has a reputation for being expensive so who knows. Personally I would have said you would struggle to get those sort of prices. They are more like web sale to the US prices IMHO.

I'm not trying to denigrate your set, just being realistic. I love deco china. I would go for ?4.99 a trio
