Royal Worcester "Thief" Mystery
« on: July 23, 2011, 09:42:30 PM »
Hi Everyone
I have a bit of a mystery, unless I'm dating this piece wrong. I was under the impression that the Royal Worcester design of the thief was only Issued 1936-1955. So I was wondering why my figure has an early puce pink mark on the base predating it. Do you think it is a prototype? It has a faint "P" and a "X" on the back, not sure if that is afeature of all the models. It seems to have been retailed in New York.
Can anyone explain this puzzle, please ask all your Royal Worcester advisors!
Best Wishes
Vickie

I don't know why it would have a different mark on it, but the British registration number is for 1937, that would put it firmly in the time period of issue. HTH
