Dating earrings
« on: April 15, 2008, 02:33:31 AM »
This pair of earrings have screw fittings rather than clips or wires.  Any suggestions as to how old they may be or where they may originate?
Cheers!

The findings website I posted in another topic tells me that screw fittings like these were patented around 1894 - much earlier than I'd thought for that fitting.  [Source: http://www.morninggloryantiques.com/JewelChatFindings.html]

Not sure what they are but I don't think they are brass. Definitely a goldie coloured metal but that's as far as I can tell so far Christine. ::)
