Broadstairs Pottery

Bought yesterday - this nice stoneware goblet.  I didn't notice the mark until I got home.  Its from Broadstairs Pottery, Kent, which was opened by David James White and operated from 1968-1983.  I've seen a matching 'decanter' when googling, so presumably this goblet would have been either part of a matching set, or could be bought separately.  I've added the mark to the pottery mark link.

Oooh i like that Anne,  it would be nice to see the complete set, the decoration reminds me of something or someone else's work though

Is it Louis Hudson???  The inscribed repeat pattern kind of made me think about him.

Its a nice looking goblet, but I don't think I'd care to drink out of it.  Too rustic for me ;D  If I don't sell it, I might put a candle in it.

Ooohhhh I'd forgotten about Broadstairs Pottery Anne. My Mum used to live/work in Broadstairs in the early '80s' and I remember seeing this stuff around when I went to see her. I think she still has a piece somewhere, unless it's been passed onto a charity shop in recent sortings-out.

I love this site, every time I look at a post it reminds me of something that I either have, or used to have.
Here are three pierced candle bowls by Diane Chambers at Broadstairs pottery. I've shown both the pottery mark and Dianes' personal mark, so if anybody can move the personal mark to the Studio Pottery Marks page you're more than welcome.

Oooh, they look fab!  They cast interesting shadows and patches of light too.
Know what you mean about things reminding you of things you had in the past.  The secret is to never give anything away  ;D   
Wasn't it Duane Chambers ???  (a bloke ;D :24:)

I've still got the 3 pieces in the bedroom, they do give beautiful light effects, very relaxing. Two have been very heavily repaired which is why I got them for a few pence, but they're only used in the dark so it doesn't really matter.

oooh - I love the lighting effect of them.  They are SO nice.  Yes, would nice on the patio too.  Of course, out of the elements  ;) ;)
