Has anyone seen anything like this!?
« on: March 08, 2010, 06:30:30 PM »
Please don't ask why I got this,I don't know, bit dusty 'cos it's been hidden away,I presume it's a drink container,Italy,Spain? no marks, red clay showing through the feet,it's staring at me across the room, think I'll put it back in the cupboard,

Yes, put it back in the cupboard, lol.  :taped:

Seriously though, It's a bit like those Portuguese or Spanish drink holders i often see, mind, never seen one like this before. Kind of cute. Reminds me of my hot dog ashtray made by Babacombe pottery but i think this one is from overseas.

When I first saw it I wondered if it was Drioli but it has no marks,

Seriously -- It does remind me of knickknacks from the 60's/70's era....or those items that people would Win at Fairs.  I have a Skunk here (with a fuzzy tail) that was from that era, and I think it was from a Fair where I won a prize.  I thought the World of it back then -- and so that is why I still have it today.  Something like this: http://www.rubylane.com/shops/headsupvintage/item/BNK-103

There was also those vintage BAR things too...I have one, just not a pic yet

Hi Keith (just wanted to mention good to put some KEY words in either the Topic, or in the post about what you are posting - as this way it is easy to Find Again when a person does a search of it.)  Key words (tags) can be like description, color, a marking.....etc.  So if I wanted to find this post I could type in (any) of these words:  Poodle, mugs, black, etc.  You do not need to put a whole bunch of key words -- just something either you (or any of us) remember about the item posted, so we can find it.

Don't let this bother you -- I have done that too.  It was only when I was looking to find some of the old things I posted, when I did not put some keys words in for myself -- HECK -- I could not even find my own posts.  Just even has to be like one KEY word that others remember seeing, the the BLACK poodle.  Had I typed in BLACK, I would have found all that had posted something with the Color BLACK -- but then since I was looking for a post by Keith only to find it.

Anyways your titles are fine, but if you would add even one key word helps to track it back when they get older.  So just a small advice - as I have been there.....lol....believe me!!!!! (Honest)  :kissy: (I never even knew how to load a picture....)

anyways I have added this here of some other Examples:
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=made+in+japan+poodle

**BINGO **....and think I found the same here (same idea) :  :cheerleader:

 http://www.cyberattic.com/stores/pgcollectibles/items/575687/item575687cyberattic.html

Asking price is $15.00 here -- and the little cups are called *shot buckets*.  Black Poodle decanter with Cups.  No date on this one -- but at least now we know to look under Breweriana for any further research, or for dating it, or the make.  So your little doggy has some Vintage Value.  Yipeeeee......

Your Welcome Keith.   :kissy: Funny how a person can remember *Visual* pictures easier that words.  I lose track of my stuff too - and that is how I now know that even if I use a funny catchy topic name (Eg Glass on Drugs - GMB) that I still listed in the post the color, descriptive words so down the road I can still find it....

I still think you *Booze Doggy* here is from the late 60's/70's era -- I am thinking that it is too made in Japan.....or I should say....just *JAPAN* as a lot of things from back then just said Japan, not "made in...".  Good thing it still has all the little *cups* with it.

You might be able to find another somewhere lurking, or another one that is missing some cups and put them together (a marriage of sorts) to make yours complete.

Someone might have used one for some dolls -- so you might be able to find one somewhere in your travels, and with ONE eye open.

Do you buy/sell your stuff?  Just curious...  :)
