Sylvac 1379 Terrier - BLACK
« on: April 18, 2011, 12:52:04 AM »
I am new here so if I get all this wrong please forgive me - I'm a male after all !

I have a Sylvac 1379 8" Terrier which is Black but can find no other reference to black versions of this figurine anywhere - does anyone out there in knowledgeworld or vapourland have any useful info that can help me track this down further. Any useful pointers would be greatly appreciated. :kissy: Thanks

Hmmm..... I'm not offended - I gave up being offended long ago. Thanks for your help too

Actually the eBay figurine you placed the link under (Here or Here if you are a Man) is the one I was talking about - I'm trying to find out if this is an unusual one as there has been a huge amount of interest shown in this particular black terrier and I cannot find another like him referred to anywhere in all the searching I have done.

Once again, as I am a man ( :thd:), I thought wiser heads out there (obviously women )  may be more aware of his provenance or have some other useful info hidden away in the old gray cells worth sharing with me.

You can see if you refer to the photos in the listing he is the correct mould for 1379 and is 8" high but doesn't match any black terrier from Sylvac that I can find, and doesn't match either of the two you referred me to.

Any help would be appreciated.....

Mould no 1379 is in my SylvaC book and is 8" high. They came out in Circa 1937 and were produced until 1982, but reproduced as "modern SylvaC" after that date. It doesn't list any colours used but since it's in black Matt it will be an earlier one i think.

Thank you TigerChips - that's about what we figured for timing  but they all seem to be either green or a light tan or bone colour, or an occasional tan & bone colour. I have kept looking and still can't find any reference to a black one anywhere in this mould. That strikes me as rather odd as it would be about the second most natural colour for a terrier after the light tan colour. Anyway I will keep searching.... thank you again for your help.
