Any ideas about these figures ~ Spanish?
« on: July 06, 2011, 12:03:40 PM »
Hi guys,

I recently bought a mixed lot at auction which included this pair of figures, and wondered if anyone could help with an ID for them. They represent what, judging from their costume, I think is a Spanish couple. One is marked with what I think is the number 73 and impressed with 1992 and 11 and the other with TF(?) or 77(?), 1993 and 26. About 7.5"/19cm tall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ~ thanks in advance, John.

Hi John, I think the coloured numbers will be the decorator's / painter's ID mark. The impressed numbers probably relate to the pattern / catalogue reference.

I'd be thinking the maker would be either in England or in Germany / Bavaria, as many figurines were made in both places.
Cheers!

Thank you Anne. I agree about the pattern numbers etc ~ just hoping that someone out there will recognise the figures and/or numbers, as I haven't been able to track them down myself!

Cheers, John.
