Pottery & Porcelain Marks
« on: July 31, 2007, 07:51:53 PM »
Yoo-hoo, first post! 8)

I have to recommend Gordon Lang's 'Pottery & Porcelain Marks' by Miller's - a really essential guide to help save having to ask questions (not that I want to make this board redundant!) ;)

ISBN-10: 1-85732-615-6

Not sure what the ISBN-13 number is though.

Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks by Geoffrey A. Godden
766 pages published by Hutchinson ISBN-10: 0257657827 ISBN-13: 978-02576578

Expensive but invaluable - shop around. It was out of print and being printed privately in short runs but now seems to be back with a mainstream publisher. I don't think it's been revised again though.

I have them both, the little Handbook is very useful as it has all the Registration number stuff in the back, that for some reason is completely missed out of the big Godden!

Clicking any of the adverts here brings the board commission on that sale only (not on others you choose also from Amazon.)  If you want other pottery books please use the search box at the left side of the screen as then the board benefits on commission from all your qualifying purchases from Amazon. Thank you for supporting the Pottery Board.
Cheers!
