I got given a whole dinner set that has Arabia underneath it..most of them anyway, some look to have worn off.
Its sitting outside near the bbq getting dusty and dirty. I will take a pic. They are all heavy and dark brown and splotchy. I think they had 84 or something like that on it. Would they have Finland? Or the artists name on them?

They have a few different things on them...some have nothing. They are all dusty and dirty so I didnt look very hard  :-\

This is the set and the back of one of the saucers..it does have Finland. I stuck them out the back because I had nowhere to put them and the lady who gave them to me said they were great for BBQ's because they were heavy and didnt break easily.

The brown stuff is called RUSKA designed by Ulla Procop? 1968 and was in production to at least 1990 - it was one of their most succesful lines and is not rare.

Hi Tony,

It is an Arabia lustreware vase, this backstamp was used during the 1930s....31-38 from memory but it's very early here  :P so dont quote me yet.

Lovely example as well. I'll try to dig out a photo of a comparable pair I had.

My memory is not good at the best of times and certainly not before 7am... The AAA (Arabia Aktiefabrik) backstamp was in use between 1928 and 1932.

Cant find the picture of the pair but here's one of them on it's own.

Pedants corner.

Ruska was designed circa 1960. They are bomb proof, and sell reasonably well (very well for certain rarer pieces) particually in the States, well worth saving from the spiders.

Hi Trudy,

LOL...If you are thinking of selling it just watch the weight, they're very heavy! Best split it into bite sized chunks I find...and best not to use 'ugly' or 'brown' in the description  ;)

Here's a version of the bees pot. I sold it last December, people went crazy for it despite a small chip.
As far as I know, the jar shapes where designed by Ulla Procop
